Due to the government shutdown, the training for this Saturday has been rescheduled.

This training is rescheduled for:

    February 23rd

    Collin College Conference Center

SKYWARN Training Status for 1/19

A decision will be made by the end of business today (Wednesday 1/16) to cancelling the training for this Saturday.  We will post the status on this website, Twitter and Facebook,, and via paging for those that participate.

If cancelled, an alternate date and location will be provided at that time as well as a link to other classes to be held in the DFW area.

Hurricane Florence Frequencies

The following information is provided:

Frequencies to Monitor in Support of Hurricane Florence Recovery Efforts  

With hurricane Florence taking its course towards the Carolinas and Georgia with an expected landfall to occur within Thursday to Friday, either as category 3 or 4 at landfall, the following frequencies have been allocated for the emergency communication to facilitate and support recovery efforts. 

The Hurricane Watch Net (HWN) is scheduled to activate Wednesday, 9/12 11:00 AM EDT – 1500 UTC. 


Hurricane Watch Net  
Day: 14.325MHz 
Night: 7.268MHz 

SATERN (Salvation Army Team Emergency Network)  
National: 14.265MHz 
Southern Territory: 7.262MHz 

Georgia ARES Emergency Plan 
Primary Voice: 3.975MHz 
Alternate: 3.982.5MHz, 3.995MHz, 5.330.5MHz, 7.287.5MHz 
Special modes: 3.583MHz (PSK), 3.549MHz (CW) 

North Carolina ARES Emergency Plan 
Primary Voice: 3.923MHz 
Alternate: 7.232MHz 
CW: 3.573MHz 

South Carolina ARES Emergency Plan 
Primary Voice: 3.990MHz 
Alternate: 3.993.5MHz, 7.232MHz
